Bingo

This is a warmup activity which uses the important new vocab from the current unit. It is best to give students the bingo sheet the lesson before so that they have time to fill it out for the start of the next lesson.

Wordsearch

This wordsearch uses some of the important new vocab from the current unit. This activity can be used either as a warmup or to fill in time at the end of the lesson.

Activity 1

Students are each given a random animal card (pages 2-4). There are 20 different animals total. They then have to find other animals and make sentences based on the grammar from unit 7-part 1 using the two animal cards they have together.
There is a toolbox to give them some ideas of different adjectives to use.
This activity works good if you show flash cards of various animals first and ask them which is cuter/bigger/stronger/faster etc. Flash cards can be found at the bottom of this page.
If doing 'x is faster than y', leave the hare/tortoise to last. The students will say the hare is faster. It is good to then introduce them to the famous story of 'The tortoise and the hare'. There is a good short video of it on youtube by disney.

Activity 2

Students work by themselves or in pairs and draw lines between different animal names and then write sentences based on the matches they made with lines.

Animal Flash Cards

Flash cards which can be used for introducing different animals which occur in the previous two PDF's.

Activity 3

Students work in groups and try to guess the answers to the questions. A3 size is best.
The answers are on page 2.
